We conceived, designed, and built the Modular™ 920, a flexo printer from our central impression flexo printers family, developed as an in-line solution specifically dedicated to the extrusion and converting industrial sectors. We structured this flexographic printing machine to work continuously and with extreme smoothness on unwinding flexible materials such as plastic and bioplastic.

To ensure accurate graphic results, characterized by high coverage and particularly brilliant colors, we equipped the system with two Miniflex® 519 printing units, enabling two-color configurations, both 2+0 and 1+1. In terms of production specifications, our flexographic printer handles a fixed printing width of 1300 mm and guarantees a variable print repeat, from a minimum of 400 mm up to a maximum of 850 mm. To keep the production process efficient and cost-effective, we adopted an enclosed chamber inking system based on an Ultralox™ ceramic anilox roller. We Teflon-coated the enclosed chamber to facilitate cleaning as much as possible and optimized the entire system for the exclusive use of UV inks. In addition, we integrated a small-sized ink supply system directly on the printing unit, made extremely compact by the presence of a monoblock and a peristaltic pump. Thanks to this robust structural configuration, our printer reaches an operating speed of 120 meters per minute.

Precision control of the entire system is entrusted to a gearless drive system based on synchronized brushless motors. We designed this system with a robust support bracket that allows the operator to comfortably perform cross-adjustment of the printing units. To make operations fast, we integrated in-line sleeve-change capability via a practical air mandrel, enabling the Variant operating mode, which allows varying the print repeat directly from the operator panel. We installed a drying system with UV lamps, designed to speed up ink drying on the printed material.
