Inline foam board flexo press
Miniflex® 373 has been planned to meet with the polystyrene printing requirements. Its main features are:
- Horizontal positioning in-line with boards passing underneath
- Maximum substrate speed: 50 m/min standard or 120 m/min special
- Cliché fixing with mechanical turnbuckle
- Two-roller flexographic inking without doctor blade
- Automatic ink filling
- Driven by contact with the substrate and the stop roller
- Pantograph device and mechanical stops for alignment adjustment
- Pneumatic control logic
- Frame designed for one printing cylinder only (single repeat length or submultiples)
Gentle, low-pressure “Kiss” impression
Miniflex® 373’s large-diameter photopolymer plate glides over XPS or PUR/PIR surfaces with minimal nip force. Driven directly by board movement and a calibrated stop roller, it delivers just enough pressure to transfer crisp, one- or two-color graphics without denting the fragile foam cells beneath. Mechanical turnbuckles hold plates snugly for uniform tension, while the pantograph and stops guarantee repeatable lateral and circumferential registration.
Chemically safe, versatile inking
Understanding polystyrene’s sensitivity, the two-roller inking system accepts:
- Water-based inks for inert, low-temperature cure
- Mild-solvent formulations (e.g., alcohol-based) for faster drying
- Optional UV-curable inks for instant set-off prevention
Automatic filling keeps viscosity constant, and gentle roller agitation prevents pigment settling without overworking the ink. Downstream air knives or UV lamps can be integrated to match any production dry time.
Seamless inline integration
Positioned immediately after the cooling zone, Miniflex® 373 slots directly into continuous extrusion lines, no offline handling, no bottlenecks. Its rotary design synchronizes perfectly at up to 120 m/min, ensuring branding, R-value markings, and installation guides are applied at full line speed. With only one cylinder, maintenance is swift, changeovers are simple, and the total cost of ownership remains exceptionally low.
Robust, user-friendly controls
Pneumatic logic provides intuitive start/stop control and emergency shut-off. The sturdy frame and minimal moving parts make Miniflex® 373 both durable in dusty plant environments and easy to maintain. For printers seeking a reliable, cost-effective solution to high-volume foam board marking, Miniflex® 373 stands unmatched.
