We have conceived, designed, and built the Modular™ 998, an in-line flexo printer from our “Flexo stack” family, engineered as a high-speed solution for the packaging sector. We developed this 1-color flexographic printing machine to operate in a focused and steady manner on continuous webs of materials such as plastic and bioplastic. This printer integrates directly in-line with the substrate, providing a compact solution with an integrated dryer, making it suited for large-format repeat printing.

From a technical standpoint, we have configured this flexographic printer to handle a maximum printing width of 500 mm, combined with a variable print repeat ranging from a minimum of 600 mm up to a maximum of 1400 mm. To maintain a constant and convenient production, we have designed an inking system consisting of a ceramic anilox and a closed chamber doctor blade system. This configuration allows our flexo printer to operate in-line with the material, carefully managing solvent-based inks and achieving a printing speed of 180 meters per minute.

To ensure precise control over movement and pressure, we have equipped the Modular™ 998 with a drive system powered by two synchronized brushless motors (motor-driven), which actuate the print roller and the anilox roller. To speed up ink drying on the material and support high line speeds, we have installed a hot air drying system with resistors. Furthermore, to simplify the operator’s tasks and make format changes rapid, we have integrated a sleeve change system to easily vary the repeat and printing pitch. The core of this system is our Miniflex® 576/500 printing unit, designed to guarantee stability and precision throughout every run.
