We have conceived, designed, and manufactured the Modular™ 985, a flexo printer from our “Flexo stack” family, developed as an in-line solution dedicated to the customization of feminine sanitary pads. We have structured this specialized flexographic printing machine to operate continuously and efficiently on flexible, unwinding substrates such as plastic, bioplastics, and non-woven materials.

To ensure register control and stable results, we have equipped the machine with two synchronized Miniflex® 583 printing units, enabling clean two-color designs (2+0 configuration) on continuous film. Regarding production specifications, our flexographic printer manages a printing width of up to 100 mm, paired with a variable print repeat between 260 mm and 520 mm. To guarantee efficient and convenient production runs, we have implemented a closed-chamber inking system with a ceramic anilox roller. The printing press is designed to work with water-based and solvent-based inks, achieving a printing speed of up to 300 meters per minute.

Motion control is managed by a drive system utilizing synchronized brushless motors, which run the line steadily and safely. To facilitate format changes, we have integrated a quick sleeve-change system that allows for easy repeat changes, reducing downtime. This process is supported by a hot-air drying system, engineered to accelerate ink drying on the substrate. Furthermore, to maintain high print quality without stopping production, the Modular™ 985 features two automatic cleaning systems for each printing unit—one dedicated to the plate mounted on the sleeve, and one to the counter-pressure roller. These systems utilize water-jet nozzles that instantly remove dirt and residues while the machine is running NIC™. With the Modular™ 985, we deliver a robust and practical technology designed to optimize specific industrial printing demands.
