We have conceived, designed, and manufactured the Modular™ 978, a flexo printer from our “Flexo stack” family, developed as a dedicated solution for the extrusion, converting, and packaging industrial sectors. We have structured this flexographic printing machine to work continuously and directly in-line with the material, with a specific application for integration into extrusion lines handling sliding plastic and bioplastic substrates with a maximum material width of 750 mm.

To ensure accurate graphic results, we equipped the system with electronically synchronized printing units, which allow for two-color designs while offering the flexibility of 2+0 and 1+1 print configurations. In terms of production specifications, our flexographic printer handles a fixed printing width of 700 mm and guarantees a variable print repeat, from a minimum of 400 mm up to a maximum of 1000 mm. To keep the production process efficient and cost-effective, we adopted an enclosed chamber inking system based on an Ultralox™ ceramic anilox roller, optimized primarily for the use of water-based inks and compatible with solvent-based inks. In order to ensure constant and accurate fluid control, we integrated our Work & Wash™ automatic feeding and washing system into the machine, combined with a precise electronic viscometer to automatically keep the ink composition stabilized. Thanks to this robust structural configuration, our machinery reaches an operating speed of 150 meters per minute.

The precision control of the entire system is entrusted to a gearless motorization setup featuring synchronized brushless motors. We have studied this solution so that the operator can manage the micrometric adjustment between the rollers electronically, intervening directly and comfortably from the touch control panel, while also relying on an electronic color register with manual phasing. To make operations increasingly fast, we have integrated the possibility of performing a sleeve change assisted by an advanced RFID technology recognition system, facilitating the physical and software procedures to change the print repeat. To support the production process, especially in the 2+0 configuration, we have included an intercolor dryer to prevent any colors interference, completing the line with a powerful hot air drying system equipped with electrical resistances, specifically designed to speed up the final ink drying on the substrate. With the Modular™ 978, we deliver a solid and rational technology, designed to respond reliably to industrial needs.
