We have conceived, designed, and manufactured the Modular™ 969, a one-color flexo printer from our “Flexo stack” family, developed as a dedicated in-line solution for the paper, non-woven, and fabric industrial sectors. We have structured this flexographic printing machine to work continuously on unwinding materials, such as paper and cardboard, adapting precisely to both porous and non-porous substrates. In particular, we have studied the system to print in register with the final product on the top side of the film, a targeted application during continuous processes like bag manufacturing.
From a production specifications standpoint, our flexographic printer handles a fixed print width of 1350 mm and provides a variable print repeat, ranging from a minimum of 400 mm up to a maximum of 800 mm, where the pitch and printing plate length are comfortably settable from the control panel. To keep the production process efficient and convenient, we have adopted a closed-chamber inking system based on a laser-engraved ceramic anilox roller Ultralox™, optimized for the flexible use of water-based, solvent-based, and UV inks. Thanks to this structural configuration, our printer reaches an operating speed of 120 meters per minute.
The motion control of the entire system is entrusted to a drive system with synchronized brushless motors. We designed this solution so that the operator can manage the processes with the necessary stability. To make operations increasingly faster, we integrated sleeve-change capability, facilitating the physical procedures to vary the print repeat. To support the process involving the use of UV LED inks, we install air-cooled UV LED curing lamps. With the Modular™ 969, we deliver a robust and rational technology, designed to reliably meet industrial needs.
